Just a heads up, and as may you know, at BIMicon we are developing some interesting Revit tools that can save you heaps of time in your modeling and documentation process.
And in line with our principles, we believe that access to information should be wide and transparent. For this reason, we are going to do some heavy lifting and expose what we are doing in our development process. Someday, if you embark on that journey you will have a great understanding of the elements required to build a plugin, and it will give you a better understanding of our tools as well.
Overview of the tools under development
Here is all the tools we are going to cover from now on grouped according to their use in Revit.
Library Panel:
- BIMicon Standards: This tool enables you to check if a model complies with your predefined standards.
- Family Manager: Allows you to manage your families inside Revit.
- Add Parameters: Tool developed to allow you for batch creation of parameters inside a family or project.
- Remove Backups: Clean a directory and subdirectories of backup files.
Project Panel:
- Interior Elevations: Creates interior elevations of rooms and places them onto a sheet.
- Number Doors: Renumber the doors after the rooms number, prefixing and differentiating several doors in the same room.
- Number by Spline: Renumber rooms and parking spots according to the intersection points with the spline.
Schedules Panel:
- Schedules to Excel: Exports any number of schedules into Excel with a predefined format of cells.
- View on Sheet: Place the current view or selected views on sheets.
- Assembly Views: Create assembly views and place them onto a sheet.
- Print: Print sheets by selecting differentiating parameters in a sheet, allowing you to print by a revision or any other parameter.
Sheets Panel:
- Duplicate Sheets: Duplicate a sheet with views and detail elements.
- View on Sheet: Place the current view or selected views on sheets.
- Print: Print sheets by selecting differentiating parameters in a sheet, allowing you to print by a revision or any other parameter.
Support Panel:
- License: Allows the user to input a license to unlock features.
- Docs: All the documentation to help with the use of a tool.
- Help: Redirects to contact for support.
